Claim Sinking Whole to correct what we show. Once you have claimed it, what you tell us takes priority over anything we find elsewhere, and it stays that way.
Sinking Hole is an actively eroding punchbowl on the Mendocino coast, a steep chasm carved by groundwater and sea. A short trail through Bishop pine forest leads to views of the punchbowl and windswept ocean, coastal bluffs and wildflowers. Nearby Russian Gulch State Park provides hiking, photography, and coastline exploration; trees sometimes tumble into it after major winter storms.
