Claim The Skunk Train to correct what we show. Once you have claimed it, what you tell us takes priority over anything we find elsewhere, and it stays that way.
The Skunk Train is a historic rail line from Fort Bragg carrying passengers, freight, and lumber through Mendocino County redwoods since 1885. Its route winds through old-growth redwoods, canyons, rivers, trestles, and tunnels, with wildlife such as deer, herons, egrets, and river otters. Vintage diesel and steam locomotives run the line, nicknamed for the odor of 1925 gasoline motorcars.
