Fern Canyon Trail in Van Damme State Park follows the Little River through a verdant gulch of dense ferns, fungi, and large redwoods. It is a former road trace, wide and flat, with numerous wooden bridge crossings of the river. The setting suits a foggy day; coastal views are not part of this hike.
