MacKerricher Beach in MacKerricher State Park north of Fort Bragg has nearly a mile of dark sand, headlands, dunes, wetlands, and forest. Tide pools, rocky reefs, and a lagoon shelter marine and terrestrial wildlife. Boardwalks and trails access the coast; Laguna Point offers seals, seabirds, and gray whales in winter and spring.
