About

The Russian Gulch Bridge, officially Frederick W. Panhorst Bridge, is a 1940 open-spandrel concrete arch spanning Russian Gulch Creek along Highway 1. It replaced a timber trestle and was built by the Works Progress Administration. Designed by Henry E. Kuphal and Frederick W. Panhorst, its arch rests solely on rocky headlands without buttresses.
